Description

The Forward Building, a 1912 Beaux Arts Architectural Masterpiece Situated at 175 East Broadway between Jefferson & Rutgers Streets directly across from historic Seward Park on Manhattan's Lower East Side is undergoing a renovation and being converted into 29 unique residences. The building once housed the first Jewish language newspaper in the United States. The new interior will be comprised of Studios, one-and two-bedroom loft's, and one of downtown's most exquisite Penthouses. Sales of The Forward Building will be handled exclusively by Michael Bolla of Forward Marketing, LLC. The sales office will open in March 2006, and final construction will be completed by early summer. The building's lengthy restoration effort is now culminating after ten years of renovations due to an incredible coming together of talents. This has been the most extensive interior and exterior restoration work in the Forward Building's 96-year history. The double-fronted fa ade was faithfully refurbished according to historic photos by the Archiect, John D. Nakrosis. Mr. Nakrosis' firm provided architectural and engineering services for the replacement of the terra cotta cladding and repairs to the structural steel. The magnificent neo-classical stucco terracotta features will be spot-lit, back-lit and up-lit with a sophisticated exterior lighting configuration designed by the award winning firm, Fisher Marantz & Stone. Fisher Marantz' masterful use of technology illuminates New York's Grand Central Station and the new wing of the American Museum of Natural History. The interior architectural effort has been heralded by the Architect Ronald Castellano, of Studio Castellano, whose most recent contribution to the neighborhood includes the restoration of 142 Henry Street, a condominium he recently converted. Mr. Castellano's design intent for The Forward Building was to implement the fundamentals of contemporary design in an historical Landmark tastefully. Interior renova
