The great manhattan exodus

I'm hearing from people that 75% to 90% of some buildings are currently vacant from people fleeing from COVID-19. What are you guys seeing? What's going on in your building?

maybe 10% vacant? I know people with kids who got out pretty much the minute the schools closed. The very wealthy people I know split early too. But a lot of the older people I know stayed put because they figured that the building staff could be a lifeline of sorts...I suggested to one neighbor that maybe we should pare back our door staff (still paying them of course) because why should they risk their health to take packages? and the neighbor replied that he gets his medicines delivered from his online pharmacy.

I live in a small 27 unit condo. We are about 25% occupied. Tipping the staff like crazy and giving them coffee and food. Having someone to accept deliveries is important. I have 3 older kids living in town in other locations and we support each other the best we can. No housekeeping-no renovations-all deliveries left in lobby. Gym and rec and meeting areas closed. As long as power stays on, I'm staying. :censored:
