These seem to be happening at an alarming rate lately. At some point NYC is going to have to deal with various infrastructure issues which are extremely expensive to resolve. Where is the money going to come from?

How is this not properly funded? Im so out of the loop on this but part of me wonders how it gets this bad? Somebody out there please educate me? What would have to get done to apply a more permanent fix to this specific issue?

Not to mention $11B for tunnelling the BQE, although that seems like a long shot to me.

Personally I think if they go ahead with that BQE tunnel they should take either the Brooklyn or Manhattan bridge and make the only access in both directions be that tunnel.

But leave it to NYC City Council to wait until 5 years before a deadline to come up with a solution that will take 10 years to implement.
