Pizza Inflation Drives Brokers Crazy

A: Lets change it up a bit. When I'm out all day with clients, and very little time in between appointments, pizza is the way to go! Which is why I get reminded of food inflation daily, and don't need the gov't to tell me that its under control because the core datasets are not showing anything yet. Passing my favorite UES pizza joint (Patsy's on 118th & 1st still is my all time favorite), Anna Maria's on 83rd & 1st, shows me how they are passing on rising flour costs to customers! $2.75 a slice, talk about dough!

The price you pay for living in Manhattan! What's a slice going for around you guys?

I haven't checked recently, but my hood always had (the more expensive) Sal & Carmines which last I looked was $2.50, but that was months ago. (You don't go in as often when your wife just found out she is celiac and can only look on longingly.)

never mind pizza, bagels have gone up 30-40% in price I've noticed

Wow, apparently housing prices are not related to pizza prices! I just paid $3.50 per slice last night. Most places are $3 a slice with another .25-.50 cents per topping!

I am actually more impressed with the inflation in number of upperwestside listings - 2,000 now on the NYT website. This number was 1,600 not so long ago ...
